Kiwi Schools get Chrome Education License

The Ministry of Education and Google have announced that all Kiwi schools are now eligible to the Chrome Education License.

From November 1st, all state and state-integrated schools will be able to start claiming ministry-funded Chrome Education licenses to manage new and existing unmanaged Chromebooks. This is an exciting development for schools, meaning the fantastic Chrome Education License features can be rolled out to all school-owned, leased and BYOD Chrome devices without the additional cost traditionally associated with management licensing.

Key Features of the Chrome Education License

  • Allow, block or push apps and extensions for students and staff.
  • Apply device settings, deploy Wi-Fi settings and customise the user experience.
  • Keep track of all your devices, including serial number, status, username and location.

All current school owned, leased and BYOD devices are covered by the new agreement, including previously purchased devices that aren’t managed.
