POSITION 1 - AUCKLAND

Desktop / Network Support Person

Basic Desktop and networking knowledge a must. A super enthusiastic, willing to learn approach is needed. Also the ability to communicate well in English is essential. You would be working as a desktop / network support technician using the cutting edge of technology. Based in Newmarket, we deliver solutions to primary and secondary schools nationwide. The objective of this job is to help provide support to our clients Networks, PC's, Printers, Projectors, Smart boards, Firewalls, Servers and IT infrastructure etc.

The successful applicants will ideally have a desire and the ability to provide great customer service, the ability to multi-task in a busy environment, and a friendly and personable manner. The applicant must be a self starter able to prioritise and communicate very well within the team and with the clients.

Technical experience in a Windows network environment from previous help desk or similar role is desired. POSITION 2 - AUCKLAND

Senior Systems Engineer

Come and work in one of New Zealand’s best educational environments dealing with a wide range of technologies including the latest Microsoft Platforms, Varied third party applications including Symantec Endpoint protection, Citrix Presentation Server, VMware Virtualisation and line of business applications.

New Era IT is offering a position to an individual who meets all the following criteria. The position offered involves ongoing network support from end user and application support to desktop, server, switching infrastructure and documentation, network management, and also designing of our client networks for both tertiary and school clients.

Key Competencies, you must be able to;

• provide excellent customer service and support to all clients
• provide onsite and remote support and issue resolution, as well as technical management and implementation of existing and new network rollouts and upgrades
• contribute to the design that the Engineering team develop as solutions for our clients.
• assist in the design, implementation and ongoing management of our hosted solutions. This will involve rotational 24/7 response amongst the team.
• work as part of the engineering team providing high end Citrix advice, support and engineering for our tertiary organisations
• provide high value consultancy, advice and support to both our team members and our client base nationally and internationally
• manage your own time effectively and accurately track and record your daily activities
• use your initiative to improve systems, technical solutions and standards to provide greater efficiencies for our company
• mentor to our junior staff members to ensure that clients’ needs are being served, and that team members are providing excellent customer service, and fulfilling their responsibilities
• supporting the Service Desk in efficiently resolving issues and transferring knowledge 
• work within a team, and represent yourself and your values in line with our company values and goals.

We require a Senior Systems Engineer to be responsible as a subject matter expert for our network design and solutions supported by the senior technical support team.

You will to need be an excellent researcher and use your honed development skills on solutions we design and implement for our client’s.

You will be the Technical Lead for incidents and service requests, change approvals, problem management, service improvement, release management and training.

In this role you will work with other members in the operations team to implement new systems and upgrades offering your expertise to a multitude of critical areas for the business. You will have project management, goal setting and time management skills.

You will be a real team player with the ability to change the way you think to become an integral part in our team.
